Some unhealthy eating habits do worse than make you fat and tired – they age you from the inside out. Do you know that certain foods you eat wreak havoc not just with your health but also with how youthful you look and how well you age in every way? The old adage ‘You are what you eat” is true. It is nutrition, not our chronological age, that determines how youthful we look and feel.
Here are 5 Foods That Speed Up Aging and Make You Look Older

1.Sweets
When people consume more sugar than their cells can synthetize, excess sugar molecules bond with proteins and trigger a process that can affect the skin collagen (the protein that keeps the skin elastic and youthful). Also, sugar damages teeth causing tooth-decay and discoloration.
2.Alcohol
“When your liver is functioning well, toxins that could potentially affect the skin are expelled naturally through your body. But if toxins build-up in your liver, and aren’t broken down properly, your skin can develop a variety of issues, like acne, sallowness, and wrinkles. Alcohol is also bad for your sleep because it dehydrates. “Inadequate sleep is linked to wrinkles, uneven pigmentation, and reduced skin elasticity”.

3.Red meat
“Fatty meat generates free radicals”, says Dr. Ostad. Free radicals are molecules having one electron instead of two, which makes them unstable and prone to snag electrons from other molecules, thus turning them into unstable cells that will, in turn, snag electrons from another cell etc. Free radicals affect the ability of the skin to protect itself and generate collagen. eat lean meats such as turkey and chicken and to consume large amounts of fruits and vegetables, rich in antioxidants.

4.Trans fats
Trans fats can be found in fast food, deep fried foods, margarine, canned frosting, any junk food, and the list goes on and on. Not only do they raise the risk of developing heart disease, but they also stiffen the arteries or constrict the blood vessels. This weakens the blood-flow to the skin and causes premature aging and wrinkles.
They could even make your skin more vulnerable to UV rays. It is better to avoid products that list hydrogenated oil on the label.

5.Excess salt
Excess salt can be found in a lot of popular products: cheese, pepperoni pizza, chips, crackers, cereals, etc. Salt causes the body to retain water and leads to a “puffy” look. It also causes the cells to shrink and leads to dehydration. Not enough water leaves the skin with wrinkles and, as a result, makes it age faster.

Here are few products that will help you keep your skin looking fresh and young:
• Pomegranates: contain vitamins and antioxidants, help fight off sun damage.
• Extra vAirgin olive oil: contains omega 3 and fatty acids that are good for the skin.
• Blueberries: are rich in antioxidants, they help to keep blood vessels elastic and lower blood pressure.
• Green tea: helps to prevent oxidative damage to your skin from UV radiation.

The military diet is currently one of the world's most popular "diets." It’s claimed to help you lose weight quickly, up to 5 pounds in a single week.
But does this diet actually work, and is it something you should try? This video explains everything you need to know about the military diet.

What Is the Military Diet?

Sugar is delicious. Anyone who denies that is lying. But because life is unfair, sugar, especially in copious amounts, is really bad for your health. It's found in everything from the carbs we eat, to the drinks we consume. But it's important to watch how much sugar we are incorporating into our diet because it can cause serious side effects and impact your quality of life.

So how do you know if you're eating too much? Here are 6 red flags your body is sending you that it's time to cut back on the sweet stuff.

1.Joint pain
Refined carbs increase your blood sugar levels - causing your body's joints to inflame. This is because when your body takes in sugar, it reacts by releasing inflammatory messengers called: cytokines. These can make existing joint pain worse. If you have joint pain, excess sugar intake could be part of the problem.

2.Cavities
When bacteria chow down on food particles in between the teeth, acid is produced, which causes tooth decay. Our saliva maintains a healthy balance of bacteria on its own, but eating sugar can impact the pH and throw off the natural ecosystem. This gives the bacteria a chance to thrive and multiply, leading to cavities.

3.Weight gain
Excess sugar is excess calories, and since it has no protein or fiber, it doesn't fill you up so you just keep eating it.
Leptin is a hormone that lets your body know when it's had enough to eat - and in a study cited by Business insider an increase sugar intake could lead to a leptin resistance - which could also lead to weight gain.
So if you find yourself gaining weight, examine what it is that you're eating - chances are it could be foods that have excess sugars.

4.Increased hunger levels
Sugars aren't just in candies - sugars are found in carbs like bread and pasta. So if you ate a meal that was mostly sugary carbs, your body is going to have an energy crash and that's going to cause your body to start craving more food to replenish itself.

5.Mental fog
Sugars increase your body's need for insulin - which is a hormone your body uses to convert food into energy. So when your insulin levels are high your body's sensitivity to this hormone is reduced causing the glucose to build up in your blood.
What this can cause is hunger, fatigue, and even that foggy feeling in your brain where you feel like you can't concentrate. This insulin resistance is also what ultimately leads to diabetes - so it's important to be aware of these symptoms and understand what leads to diabetes itself.

6.Your skin won't stop breaking out.
If you find yourself suffering from acne, rosacea, eczema, or even just excessive oiliness or dryness, sugar could be to blame. Some people find that cutting sugar out of their diets greatly improves their skin problems not to mention their overall health.

Olive oil has been used for more than 6,000 years.
olive oil was used to anoint athletes during the Olympic Games and was bestowed upon the dead as a ritual burial gift. It was also used to heal a wide variety of ailments, from cuts to concussions.
Today, scientists, doctors and cooks alike know the amazing health benefits of olive oil. Do you? Here are 7 of them:

1.Lowers Cholesterol Levels
A collaborative study conducted by the Harvard School of Public Health and many other universities recommends including extra virgin olive oil to reduce the risk of heart disease.
LDL cholesterol is the bad type of cholesterol, which increases the risk of heart attacks and pulmonary heart diseases. Extra virgin olive oil, which is rich in almost 40 antioxidant chemicals, helps reduce the oxidation effects of LDL cholesterol. It also helps increase the HDL cholesterol levels.
The natural olive oil also contains 70% monounsaturated fatty acid. As a result, it lowers cholesterol accumulation in the blood and reduces heart problems.

2. The Antioxidants in Olive Oil Have Anti-Cancer Properties
Cancer is one of the most common causes of death in the world. People in Mediterranean countries have a lower risk of some cancers, and many researchers believe that olive oil may be the reason.
The antioxidants in olive oil can reduce oxidative damage due to free radicals, which is believed to be a leading driver of cancer
Many test-tube studies demonstrate that compounds in olive oil can fight cancer cells

3.Reduce risk of Alzheimer's disease.
You may be surprised to learn that the rate of Alzheimer's disease is lower in Mediterranean countries than it is anywhere else in the world. Medical News Today reports some researchers associate this phenomenon with the region's high intake of olive oil.

4.Protect against liver damage.
Yet another study cited in Medical New Today found olive oil can actually protect the liver against cell damage. In other words, a diet that includes regular consumption of olive oil reduces the risk of liver diseases.

5.Weight Loss
Medical experts suggest that it is very difficult to gain weight from the mono-unsaturated fats present in olive oil. Research on Mediterranean olive oil has shown positive results with regards to using it for weight loss as it contains healthy fats and is a great alternative for butter and other oils loaded with calories.

6.Relieve itching.
Olive oil is used to treat itching from insect bites, dry skin and other rashes. Spread a few drops of olive oil on the affected area and leave it uncovered. This home remedy has the added benefit of speeding up recovery.

7.Treat minor cuts.
Make an antibacterial salve to soothe minor cuts and scrapes, prevent infection and promote healing. This recipe includes olive oil, coconut oil, dried lavender, dried calendula, beeswax pellets, and tea tree and lavender essential oils.

Iodine is a trace element essential to life because it's a key component in thyroid hormones. If iodine levels are insufficient, the thyroid can't produce enough of the hormones T3 and T4, which can lead to hypothyroidism. The condition can cause a reduction in the body's metabolic processes.
Hypothyroidism can cause severe complications if left untreated, such as obesity, infertility, joint pain and heart disease. The body can't naturally produce iodine. Instead, it must be ingested from external sources such as food, drinks and supplements. Iodine deficiency can have an enormous impact on health. Lack of iodine destabilizes normal chemical, hormonal and enzymatic processes in the body.
Here are Common signs of iodine deficiency.

1.Muscle and joint pain
Physical activity that was once easy becomes difficult to perform with insufficient iodine. This weakness and pain are due to the lack of available energy. Muscles are especially vulnerable to lower energy. In cases of untreated hypothyroidism, peripheral vascular disease can develop. This type of disease damages the peripheral nerves, leading to pain, numbness and tingling in the arms and legs.

2.Weight gain
Iodine is critical for thyroid hormone production. A lower metabolism means fewer calories are burned for energy. When someone can't burn calories properly, that person's body will store any unused calories as fat, which can lead to an increase in weight.

3.Hair, skin and nail problems
Thyroid hormones support the growth of hair, skin and nails. The lack of these hormones commonly causes the skin to become dry, pale and itchy. The nails and hair can become dry, thin and brittle. A decrease in metabolism further hinders skin, hair and nail health as the amount of nutrient-rich blood delivered to the body is insufficient

4.Fatigue
The thyroid relies on iodine to synthesize hormones and facilitate metabolism. If someone develops hypothyroidism (caused by an insufficient level of iodine), it can decrease all of that person's metabolic processes. Metabolism is the burning of calories the body uses for energy, and a decrease slows the body's energy production, resulting in weakness and fatigue.

5.Depression/memory problems
Hypothyroidism can cause signs of depression and memory issues in the early stages. When the body can't metabolize calories for energy, that affects the brain's ability to process and react efficiently. Thought processes and memory could be slowed and scattered. Iodine deficiency affects many chemical reactions within the mind and body. Researchers have proven that chemical imbalances can cause mental disorders, including depression and anxiety.

6.Goiter
The thyroid gland is a butterfly-shaped gland at the front of the neck. The neck area is where a goiter can form in cases of iodine deficiency. A goiter is one of the earliest signs of hypothyroidism because the thyroid gland swells in response to constant stimulation to produce more hormones. The body also tries to enlarge the thyroid gland so it will be able to absorb more iodine. Typically, a goiter is not a problem, but if it becomes too enlarged it can cause breathing and swallowing difficulties.

An unhealthy diet can damage your metabolism, cause weight gain and even hurt organs, such as your heart and liver. But what you eat also impacts another organ — your skin.
As scientists learn more about diet and the body, it's increasingly clear that what you eat can significantly affect the health and aging of your skin.
This video takes a look at 5 of the best-foods for keeping your skin healthy.
1.Fatty Fish
Fatty-fish, such as salmon, mackerel and herring, are excellent foods for healthy-skin. They are rich sources of omega-3 fatty acids, which are important for maintaining skin-health. Omega-3 fatty acids are necessary to keep skin thick, supple and moisturized. In fact, a deficiency in omega-3 fats can cause dry skin.
The omega-3 fats in fish reduce inflammation, which can cause redness and acne. They can even make your skin less-sensitive to the sun's harmful UV rays
Fatty-fish is also a source of vitamin E, one of the most important antioxidants for your skin. Getting enough vitamin E is essential for protecting your skin against damage from free radicals and inflammation.

2.Avocados
Avocados are high in healthy-fats. These fats benefit many functions in your body, including the health of your skin.
Getting enough of these fats is essential to keep skin flexible and moisturized.
One study in over 700 women found that a high intake of total fat — specifically the types of healthy-fats found in avocados — was associated with more supple, springy skin.
3.Red or Yellow Bell Peppers
Bell peppers are an excellent source of beta-carotene, which your body converts into Vitamin-A.
One cup of chopped red bell pepper contains the equivalent of 92% of the Reference Daily Intake of vitamin A.
They’re also one of the best sources of vitamin C, necessary for creating the protein collagen which keeps skin firm and strong. A single cup of bell pepper provides an impressive 317% of the Reference Daily Intake of vitamin C.
A large observational study in women linked eating plenty of vitamin C to a reduced risk of wrinkled and dry skin with age.

4.Broccoli
Broccoli is full of many vitamins and minerals important for skin health, including zinc, vitamin A and vitamin C. It also contains lutein, a carotenoid that works like beta-carotene. Lutein protects your skin from oxidative damage, which can cause your skin to become dry and wrinkled.
But broccoli florets also pack a special compound called sulforaphane, which boasts some impressive potential benefits. It may even have anti-cancer effects, including on some types of skin cancer.
5.Green Tea
Green tea may protect your skin from damage and aging. The powerful compounds found in green tea are called catechins work to improve the health of your skin in several ways.
Like several other antioxidant-containing foods, green-tea can help protect your skin against sun damage. While green-tea is a great choice for healthy skin, you may want to avoid drinking your tea with milk, as milk could reduce the impact of green tea’s antioxidants.

How many times have you wondered how to restore skin glow? Nothing compares to a healthy and radiant skin, but numerous factors cause dull complexion, speed up aging, and make your skin look lifeless.

Antioxidants are substances that provide a wide array of benefits for your health and well being.
Antioxidants are useful because they help prevent or stop cell damage caused by oxidants.
Check out these 7 high anti oxidant foods that will give you clear and glowing skin.

1.Berries
Berries are the richest sources of antioxidants and an ideal food for the radiant and youthful skin. One study found that blueberry, blackberry, and strawberries contains gallic acid, vanillic acid, ferulic and ellagic acid, quercetin, and other types of flavonols and flavonoids.
Besides skin health, berries are also beneficial for your heart, cognitive functioning, diabetes management, weight control, and cancer prevention.

2.Pomegranate
Pomegranates contain punicalagin which are potent antioxidants.
This fruit combats inflammation from acne breakouts to clear out your complexion. Polyphenols found in pomegranate protect our cells from oxidative stress while stimulating collagen production. Just like berries, this fruit is an amazing source of Vitamin C as well.

3.Red grapes
Red grapes contain resveratrol, a phytoalexin antioxidant with chemopreventive and therapeutic effects against numerous diseases and disorders, and it is also beneficial for your skin. Resveratrol exhibits protective effects against oxidative stress caused by UV radiation. As a result, it shows a tremendous potential in warding off skin disorders and slowing down the aging process.

4.Garlic
Garlic has anti-inflammatory effects that fight skin conditions such as psoriasis, and it can help eliminate acne. What most of us don’t realize is that garlic also acts as an antioxidant due to a high level of compounds such as allyl cysteine, alliin, allicin, and allyl disulfide. Evidence shows that consumption of garlic can help neutralize free radicals and it exhibits beneficial effects on the maximum proliferative capacity of fibroblasts for long-term, meaning it plays a role as an anti-aging and rejuvenating agent.

5.Watermelon
Watermelon is one of the best sources of antioxidant lycopene and Vitamin A which is required for sebum production, and keeps your skin hydrated and moisturized. Watermelons help prevent cancer, improve heart health, and lower inflammation. The best way to eat is on its own, especially during hot summer days.

6.Broccoli
Broccoli is rich in carotenoids, kaempferol, and quercetin all of which are potent antioxidants. This vegetable also contains antioxidant glucoraphanin which protects the skin from consequences associated with UV radiation. If we bear in mind that the sun is responsible for 80% of wrinkles on your face, impairs collagen production, elasticity, and gives you dull complexion then including broccoli is one of the most powerful foods for gorgeous skin.

7.Dark chocolate
Dark chocolate is highly nutritious containing fiber, iron, magnesium, copper, manganese, potassium, and other important nutrients to benefit your health. Above all, it is loaded with antioxidants such as polyphenols, flavanols, and catechins. One study found that regular consumption of dark chocolate protects skin from UV damage, while conventional chocolate doesn’t induce those effects. Also, dark chocolate improves brain health, lowers blood pressure and raises levels of HDL (good) cholesterol.

When it comes to exercise, it's no secret that running is good for you. But do you know what happens to your body when you run? I'm not just talking about sweating and getting out of breath.
Much like yoga and strength training, running provides so many healthful benefits. The rad thing about it is that you don't even need to run a marathon. A short and sweet morning or lunch workout will still do your body good. Each and every effort will matter; it all adds-up in the end.
If you are wondering about what really goes on in your body, check this list out. Hopefully, it will encourage you to add more runs to your exercise regime. You and your body totally deserve-it!

1. Your heart rate increases
If there's one thing we all know, it's this: when you run, your heart-rate increases. The more intense the workout, the faster your heart-beats. As a result, various aspects of your body reap the benefits.

2. Blood circulation increases
Exercise causes the heart muscle to contract faster. More blood moves throughout your body, ensuring that each and every part is fueled and ready to go.

3. Your heart muscle gets stronger
Running gives your heart the workout it deserves. As it contracts and pumps blood, it becomes bigger and stronger. This way, it'll do a better job of getting enough nutrients and oxygen around your body.
4. Oxygen uptake rises
As your blood takes a trip around the body, oxygen uptake increases. It delivers oxygen straight to the brain, skin, and organs, making sure everything is in tip top shape. These body parts need adequate oxygen in order to be the best that they can be.

5.It boosts brain-power
Along with your heart, your brain becomes stronger when you run. As oxygen reaches your brain, new neural connections form. Memory making neurotransmitters are also enhanced during physical activity. Again, this comes down to your brain's hunger for oxygen uptake and blood-circulation.

6.Stress is reduced
Let's face it — stress is a normal part of life. We all feel bogged-down every now and then, especially during big life changes or deadlines. When you run, your brain produces less stress hormones and more endorphins. This is essential for relaxing your senses and clearing your head.

7.Muscles strengthen
When you run, your muscles tear ever so slightly. Your body then rebuilds them. This is exactly how muscles become defined and strong. And because running requires the entire body to move, multiple muscles will reap the benefits.

8.Your mood improves
This goes hand in hand with stress reduction. Running is an awesome way to boost self-confidence and personal outlook on one's self. It also enhances the brain's production of specific neurotransmitters that makes you feel better.

9.Sleeping gets better
After a good run, you're more likely to get an awesome night's rest. After all, getting enough shut eye is vital for overall health. It's crucial for proper focus, concentration and all around badassery.
